A lovely Seikomatic '5' from 1965 with automatic calibre 6619. The case is EGP gold plated. The case back states "SEIKO | WATER PROOF | EGP. | 6619-8040", and has the dolphin logo (which indicates an original waterproof rating to 30 metres).
The dial is a desirable variant, with raised indices and a lovely left-to-right brushed finish. It features a top-to-bottom brushed strip across the centre with the writing 'Seiko Seikomatic 5 Waterproof Diashock 21 Jewels", and thin grid lines. This strip really stands when the light catches it at the right angle. The Day/Date fully work as expected. The 6619 movement only has Date quick-set via pushing the crown (to adjust the Day means needs forwarding the time past midnght until the correct day is reached).
The gold plate is in better condition than most that appear for sale, with just a bit of wear to the end of the lugs and on the underside near the crown, and the edges of the crown. The bezel is in nice condition and without the often seen wear, with just a noticeable ding on the edge near the 6 o'clock marker. The crystal has minimal noticeable marking.

Watches without a watch box mentioned in the listing will be double boxed (a smaller cardboard box inside the larger shipping box, each with padding, for protection). We aim to package and post your order within 3 working days, and select the most appropriate insured postal method for you order. There may be times where it may take longer to ship your item, we will advise you if this is the case. Delivery charges are calculated automatically at checkout based on the value, size and weight of your order and your delivery location.

In the event a parcel is delivered damaged, you can reject the delivery and ask it is returned to sender. If you elect to accept the delivery, we recommend you photograph the packaging from all angles before opening it, and then again once opened if the contents show signs of damage.
