We have just listed for sale a stunning Seiko Type II Quartz watch. It features a faceted crystal, a brushed green dial with opposing stripe down the middle, this watch really stands out from the crowd. When light hits the dial the green colour really pops out in a way that Seiko are masters at. The brushed effect from the centre stripe oppose the brushed effect on the sides, creating a lovely effect as light shifts round the dial.
The bracelet features a polished stripe to compliment the dial, together really making this watch stand out from the crowd. The link style of the bracelet has been used with a couple of other mid 70's though not aware of other models with the polished centre stripe (possibly as the others didn't feature the stripe down the dial).
The quartz movement used in this model is the reliable 7546. This is closely related to the 7548/7549 used in the diver's watches, with the 7546 being put into Seiko's 'daily' watches. A typical battery life expectancy of FIVE years put the caliber 75 movement ahead of the competition and was the result of the hard work Seiko put into quartz development in the 70s.
Seiko released two versions of the 7546-8160. This green version plus a blue dialled version. Both are equally stunning. They can be seen together in the 1978 Vol1 JDM catalogue on page 12.
This watch is for sale with with box, tags and 7546 booklet. The watch is fully working, keeping good time, and in a nice condition for its age. There are some signs of use on the case/bracelet with a few smaller scratches on the crystal, though it has generally stood the test of time well. A really stunning watch that will be a lovely addition to any Seiko collection.
